Collecting the Thing yourself, or asking a friend for help?
Quick Tip: The only thing you need to collect your Thing is your borrower code sent via email and SMS.
It's absolutely fine for a friend or neighbour to collect your Thing on your behalf!
We just ask borrowers to make sure the person collecting is 18+ and physically capable of transporting the Thing. Some of our Things are heavy or bulky - read more about getting them home here.
All you or a friend/neighbour need in order to collect using our self-service kiosk is the 6-digit borrower code from your reservation confirmation email. That's it! You can also use your email address in a pinch.
Just go to the location you've reserved from, head to our Library of Things kiosk and you'll see the 'Start here' screen ready for collecting.
Tips, help and related articles
We recommend bringing a bag or rucksack to help collect your Thing. You can find more information about packaging on your Thing's page on our website, under the 'Good to know' heading.
Be sure to check over your Thing(s) at the kiosk for any missing parts. If something isn't right or the Thing has been returned unacceptably dirty by the previous borrower, please get in touch with our Borrower Support team before you take it home!
